Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday said a key accused linked to a drug trafficking network, Virender Singh Basoya, has been extradited to India from the United Arab Emirates.
In a post on X, Shah said the Narendra Modi-led government is continuing efforts to trace drug traffickers hiding abroad and dismantle the entire network behind narcotics smuggling.
He said the extradition was carried out successfully by officials of the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), calling it a new milestone in India’s “zero tolerance” approach against drugs.
Shah added that the action once again demonstrates that drug trafficking gangs cannot evade Indian law, regardless of where they are hiding.
