Gold prices in Chennai inched up on Friday (August 15), with 22-carat jewellery gold seeing a small rise.

Traders quoted gold at Rs 14,220 per gram, up Rs 20, while the sovereign (8 grams) rate increased by Rs 160 to Rs 1,13,760.

The report noted that gold prices in Tamil Nadu have been fluctuating in recent days, influenced by international market conditions.

Earlier, on August 13, jewellery gold was also reported at Rs 14,220 per gram and Rs 1,13,760 per sovereign, while silver was sold at Rs 260 per gram. The article added that silver prices saw no change in the latest update.
