RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat on Saturday described young people as the country’s primary working force, stressing that their energy must be channelled in the right direction for the nation to gain.
Speaking at an event in Nagpur district of Maharashtra, Bhagwat said India is fundamentally different from countries such as the United States, Australia, China and New Zealand. He argued that the country should create its own benchmarks for development and progress, rather than blindly adopting models followed elsewhere.
He said India’s large youth population is a major asset, but warned that if it is not handled properly it could turn into a burden on society in the future. According to him, today’s youth will become the earning power of the country in the years ahead.
Bhagwat also underlined that “employment” should not be limited to office jobs, and that people engaged in physical labour must be included and given due respect. He added that the world is wavering due to a flawed outlook, and said India has a duty to show a future path through balanced thinking.
Referring to India’s large population and comparatively smaller geographical area, he said the approaches of countries like Canada, the US and China cannot be copied without thought. He called for a distinct way of thinking to address India’s challenges, urging people to understand and examine issues carefully.
