Police officer Dharmaraj died after collapsing during the Independence Day parade at Fort St George in Chennai. He was rushed for treatment but later passed away.
According to the report, Dharmaraj was admitted to the Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital following the incident. Doctors’ efforts did not succeed, and he died during treatment.
Chief Minister Vijay has ordered a relief assistance of Rs 30 lakh to be provided to the deceased officer’s family.
In a statement, the Chief Minister said he was deeply saddened to learn of Dharmaraj’s death, calling it an irreparable loss to the Tamil Nadu Police and to the officer’s family. He also conveyed condolences to the family members and relatives.
