Chennai: Water Resources Minister Anand on Saturday asserted that the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) would not indulge in corruption and would stand by the party’s goal of clean governance.

Speaking after inaugurating the Thalapathy Vetri Education Centre at Kovalam in Chengalpattu district, he said welfare initiatives were being carried out for students and people from economically weaker sections, following instructions from Chief Minister Vijay.

Anand said the Chief Minister was working sincerely for the welfare of the people of Tamil Nadu and that party members should support him through honest work. He also noted that the Chief Minister keeps track of constituency-level issues and seeks accountability from the concerned MLA even for small problems.

Contrasting TVK with other parties, he said some parties retain the same office-bearers for decades, while in TVK, those at lower levels could rise and those at the top could be moved down at any time. He urged party functionaries to conduct themselves with dignity and reiterated that ministers, MLAs and party office-bearers would never engage in corruption.
