Chennai: The Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (DVAC) has issued a lookout notice against Rathesh Raju in connection with the alleged corruption case involving TASMAC, the Tamil Nadu government-run liquor corporation.

The case stems from allegations that irregularities took place in liquor procurement, sales and cargo transportation at TASMAC during the previous DMK regime. DVAC registered a case and recently conducted searches at 45 locations, during which officials said they seized materials indicating large-scale wrongdoing.

After examining the seized evidence, investigators concluded that former DMK minister Senthil Balaji and Rathesh Raju—described as part of his close circle—played key roles in the alleged scam. An IAS officer, Visakan, has also been named as an accomplice.

DVAC said 11 people, including Senthil Balaji, have been implicated so far, while Rathesh Raju remains absconding. The lookout notice has been issued to prevent him from fleeing abroad and to ensure he is detained if he attempts to travel or returns to India, as DVAC plans to arrest him for further questioning.
