Chennai: Chief Minister Vijay released a video outlining the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) government’s achievements during its first 100 days in office. He described the 100-day governance record as “the people’s conscience for an era.”
In the video, the government highlighted a range of law-and-order and social initiatives, including the formation of the “Singappen” special rapid-response force and 65 special squads to curb narcotics. It also said 717 liquor shops were shut during the period.
On the economy and development front, the government cited the “Vettri Tamil Nadu Investors Meet 2026,” claiming investments worth Rs 1 lakh crore. It also announced annual allocations of Rs 6,000 crore for the TN-VETTRI rural rejuvenation programme covering health, drinking water and roads, and Rs 3,500 crore for the “Vettri Veedu” housing scheme.
The list also included welfare and education measures such as 200 units of free electricity, an expansion of the Perunthalaivar Kamarajar breakfast scheme with an allocation of Rs 710 crore, and a Rs 2,000 crore allocation for the “Vettri Laptop” scheme. The government said skill training was provided to 12 lakh students and 1 lakh youth, and that Class 11 students in government and aided schools would receive branded bicycles with helmets and water bottles.
Agriculture-related announcements included special incentives of Rs 4,000 per tonne for sugarcane and Rs 2,750 per quintal for paddy, along with a Rs 6,000 crore crop loan waiver for farmers. Other schemes mentioned were gold assistance for family events, a women’s goat-rearing programme, a 150-day guaranteed employment initiative, and steps towards “transparent and honest administration,” including CMDA-level planning approvals for multi-storey buildings and contactless document registration.
