Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan on Saturday released Ennangalum, Ezhuthugalum (Thoughts and Writings), a book by Hindu Munnani founder Ramagopalan, at a function held at D.G. Vaishnav College in Arumbakkam, Chennai.
In his address, Radhakrishnan reflected on life as the journey between birth and death, and said a person’s legacy is shaped by how much time is devoted to the welfare of society and the protection of ancient culture and its values.
He said Ramagopalan lived for society rather than for himself, and noted that Hindu Munnani was founded in 1980 to oppose religious conversions and atheism. Recalling the early years, he said the organisation initially faced resistance and a lack of support.
Radhakrishnan said Ramagopalan worked to ensure that “good ideas” reached young people and took root as positive influences, and added that the belief that Sanatanam is the heritage of the land guided his efforts. He also invoked the sentiment, “A day will come; the whole of Sindh will be ours.”
The event was attended by Union Minister of State L. Murugan, Tamil Nadu Governor Rajendra Arlekar, Tamil Nadu BJP president Nainar Nagendran, Hindu Munnani state president Kateswara Subramaniam, RSS South India leader Vanniyarajan, Hindu Munnani South India organiser Bhaktan, and Vimurthananda, head of the Thanjavur Ramakrishna Math, among others.
