India and China played out a 2-2 draw in a women’s Hockey World Cup League match in the D Division at Amstelveen in the Netherlands.
India opened the scoring in the 8th minute when Navneet Kaur finished a move set up by Neha’s pass. China responded in the 15th minute through Zhang Ying, who converted a penalty stroke.
India regained the lead in the 25th minute as Deepika scored from a penalty corner, taking India to a 2-1 advantage at halftime.
China fought back after the break, with Ma Ning converting a penalty corner in the 39th minute to level the match. The contest ended 2-2, and both sides received one point each.
In another D Division league match, England beat South Africa 4-0, with goals from Darcy Bourne, Tessa Howard, Elizabeth Neal and Sophie Hamilton. In men’s matches in Belgium, Australia defeated Ireland 3-1 in the C Division, while Belgium edged France 3-2 in the B Division.
