Tirunelveli: Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) deputy general secretary Zakir Hussain on Sunday said legal action would be initiated against BJP Tamil Nadu president Nainar Nagenthran over remarks he allegedly made about women.
Speaking to reporters in Tirunelveli, Hussain said the party was preparing to contest and win in all local bodies in the upcoming local body elections, similar to how it contested all 234 Assembly constituencies.
He claimed that women are respected and protected by the party, and said Chief Minister Vijay has been acting as a “protective shield” for women. He added that in the TVK government, issues related to women are being addressed with immediate action.
Referring to the controversy over comments allegedly made about the Chief Minister’s mother, Hussain said no one was fit to speak about the Chief Minister in such a manner and that all legal steps would be pursued. He said the law would act soon.
