New Delhi: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced a re-examination for three subjects in the UGC NET, following complaints raised about the test.

In a statement, the agency said the UGC NET—held to determine eligibility for Assistant Professor posts and for research fellowships—was conducted from June 22 to June 30 across 87 subjects.

NTA said issues were identified specifically in the English, Commerce and Sociology papers, including incorrect translations, typographical errors and repetition of the same questions.

As a result, a re-exam will be conducted only for these three subjects. English will be held on September 9 from 9 am to 12 noon, while Commerce will be held the same day from 3 pm to 6 pm. The Sociology re-exam is scheduled for September 10.

The agency said details on exam centres and hall tickets will be released soon on the official website. It added that no additional exam fee will be collected for the re-exam, and results for the remaining 84 subjects will be declared as planned, without delaying fellowship seat allocation or certificate issuance.
