Four students who recently completed Class 12 in Madurai have written to District Collector Nishanth Krishna alleging sexual harassment by a teacher at their private school.

According to the complaint, the students said their physics teacher, identified as Rajkumar, harassed them both in person and over the phone. They said they had earlier brought the issue to the attention of the school management.

The students alleged that the management did not take action, citing concerns that the school’s reputation would be affected. In their letter to the Collector, they said they approached the administration to ensure that other students would not be affected in a similar manner.

Following the letter, the Collector directed District Child Protection Officer Sreedhar to conduct an inquiry. Based on the complaint, police registered a case under the POCSO Act against Rajkumar and three others, including the school principal and a warden.
