New Delhi: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has removed 600 experts from its question paper panel as part of a restructuring exercise, and has brought in new members, according to a statement from the Union Education Ministry.

The move follows recent issues linked to centrally conducted examinations. Union Education Minister Prahlad Joshi held discussions with senior officials, including the Higher Education Minister and the NTA Director, to review steps being taken to address the concerns.

In the meetings, the minister directed officials to ensure adequate infrastructure and security arrangements for the smooth conduct of examinations. The ministry said a four-layer question paper verification system has been put in place to strengthen question paper security.

The ministry also said the agency plans to add 20 to 25 officers over the next two to three weeks, with further recruitment under consideration. Separately, the NTA office is to be shifted to a new location on a war footing, where security will be strengthened through CISF personnel.
