Coimbatore: The Tamil Nadu Housing Board (TNHB) has said that 220 completed houses in the city are yet to find buyers, and officials are now banking on an online sales process to improve uptake.

According to TNHB, 32 houses are available in Singanallur. In Gandhi Park and Ponnaiyarajapuram, two houses are listed under the high-income category, while 22 houses under the middle-income category have been priced between Rs 35 lakh and Rs 41 lakh.

In addition to houses, TNHB’s Special Scheme Division-3 has 150 house plots in P.N. Palayam in sizes of 1, 2 and 5 cents, with the rate fixed at Rs 1,000 per sq ft.

The state government has moved TNHB’s sales and allotment procedures online to ensure transparency. Buyers must register through TNHB portals to view details such as location, size, price, floor plan and related drawings.

Application fees have been fixed at Rs 826 for the high-income group, Rs 590 for the middle-income group and Rs 472 for the low-income group. Selected applicants must pay 10% of the total value through the online portal via e-challan. TNHB Coimbatore regional engineer Jacob Nayagam said the online process will run from August 21 to September 26, and beneficiaries will be chosen through an online lottery.
