New Delhi: Delhi Police and paramilitary personnel on Wednesday demolished and removed barricade walls placed outside the Pakistan Embassy in Chanakyapuri, a prime diplomatic area of the capital.

Officials used a bulldozer to clear the structures outside the embassy premises. The space earlier used for the visa section queue, along with other security barricades, was also removed.

The move is being seen as a reciprocal step, coming three days after Pakistan removed security barriers and vehicle-parking bollards outside the Indian Embassy in Islamabad.

The development follows recent diplomatic friction, including Pakistan’s strong objection after the US Ambassador to India, Sergio Gor, said during a visit to Srinagar that Jammu and Kashmir is an integral part of India.
