Chennai: Chief Minister Vijay on Wednesday told the Tamil Nadu Assembly that he has evidence related to alleged corruption in three government departments, and cautioned the DMK not to push him into making it public.
The remarks came during a debate after Minister Rajmohan said the opposition often demands proof when ministers raise issues, adding that the Chief Minister has been collecting supporting material.
Responding, Vijay said he had not intended to raise the matter, but noted that the Finance Minister had mentioned a week earlier that an examination of three departments had been carried out and the details were on the Chief Minister’s table.
Vijay said the material is available “with evidence” and warned against forcing him to “open” it prematurely, adding that it would be disclosed when the time is right. He also said the government would decide what to say to the public and when, and made a remark that some people should benefit at least in the by-election.
