A young woman has come under sharp criticism after a video showed her verbally abusing on-duty security personnel in Ladakh, a region of high strategic importance. The clip spread widely on social media, triggering condemnation from multiple quarters.

The incident occurred on July 26, when traffic restrictions were imposed on the Minamarg–Zoji La–Sonamarg road ahead of Kargil Day-related arrangements. With the road closed near the Minamarg check post, travellers were made to wait for an extended period.

In the video, the woman—said to be around 25—questions why civilians are stopped when a minister is travelling, and complains that people had been waiting for hours. She also makes remarks about being from “Gen Z” and challenges the authorities over the restrictions.

Following the viral clip, many social media users accused her of disrespecting the Indian Army and alleged she was seeking online attention. Several demanded action against her for insulting soldiers performing their duty.

The woman later released an apology, stating that she respects the Indian Army and did not intend to insult the forces or gain publicity. She said she had travelled from Delhi to Ladakh, was unaware of any VIP movement, and after waiting for three to four hours and being told it would take another hour, she lost her temper and used inappropriate words.
