Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday said India has achieved significant milestones in the space sector, calling the recent progress a sign of strong growth in a challenging new domain.

Modi met the CEOs and founders of 20 space startups at his office in Delhi. During the interaction, he urged entrepreneurs to explore how space technology can contribute to areas such as agriculture, livestock management, dairy development and the environment.

In a social media post, the Prime Minister said he was pleased to meet young entrepreneurs who have entered a demanding field with courage. He noted that they trusted reform measures and continued their efforts with determination.

Modi said the startups offered useful presentations on their work and also appreciated the government’s reforms in the space sector, explaining how these steps helped them expand. He added that the Centre would continue to support their journey in building India’s future capabilities.

He further said India has the strength to deliver innovative and commercially new space products to the world.
