A police case has been registered in Puducherry after a complaint alleged that Thirubhuvanai constituency TVK MLA Sai Saravanan Kumar trespassed into a private electronics manufacturing unit in the Thirubhuvanai industrial estate.
The unit, operated by Whirlpool and known for producing electronics products including “Bridge”, was visited by the MLA for an inspection, according to employees. The complaint claims staff on duty tried to stop him, but he entered the premises along with his supporters.
Based on a complaint from the company’s manager, Sivarama Krishnan, police registered a case against the MLA and his supporters under five sections, including alleged trespass, abuse of security personnel and criminal intimidation.
Meanwhile, the MLA submitted a complaint to the PCR Cell SP, alleging that managers and staff obstructed him and argued with him when he went to inspect the company over a complaint that it had encroached on public spaces. Police have also registered a case against two company managers in connection with the MLA’s complaint.
