Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday lauded the growth of India’s space-sector start-ups and urged them to attract talent from across the world to boost India’s position in the global space economy.

Speaking in New Delhi on the occasion of National Space Day, Modi interacted with CEOs of space start-ups. He said the entrepreneurs had shown skill and courage in a new domain, and highlighted their trust in the government.

Modi stressed that policy decisions should remain stable and should not be changed frequently, saying consistency builds confidence among those willing to take risks.

He also called on start-ups to think beyond conventional applications and find new ways for their technologies to address everyday challenges and improve quality of life.

Modi said India should reach a stage where, during major turning points, international attention naturally turns to Indian start-ups, and global space stakeholders encourage collaboration by coming to India and partnering with Indian start-ups and space companies.
