New Delhi: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has sent a summons to terrorist Saeed Ibrahim in connection with the Pahalgam attack case.
The attack took place on April 22 last year at Pahalgam, a major tourist destination in Jammu and Kashmir, in which 26 tourists were killed. Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba’s affiliate, The Resistance Front, had claimed responsibility for the incident.
A chargesheet in the case was filed on December 15 last year. It reportedly named seven accused, including three Pakistani terrorists and one person from Afghanistan.
The NIA has alleged that Saeed Ibrahim, described as the chief of Lashkar-e-Taiba, acted as the mastermind behind the attack. A non-bailable warrant has also been issued against him.
According to the report, the summons was sent to Saeed Ibrahim, who is said to be taking refuge in Pakistan, through India’s Ministry of External Affairs.
