Minister Nirmal Kumar told reporters in Madurai that the opposition becomes angry whenever issues such as corruption and party finances are raised.

He said legal proceedings and the Tamil Nadu Assembly are separate matters, noting that grant demands are currently being discussed in the House. According to him, the government responds only when the opposition uses unnecessary words during the debate.

Referring to a transformer-related case, the minister said it had been pending for three years and that the court had questioned why a case was not filed in such a major corruption matter. He added that cases cannot be filed casually.

Rejecting allegations of political vendetta, Nirmal Kumar said there was no need to target the opposition and claimed there was no such intent from the Chief Minister or anyone else. He further alleged that the public had already “punished” them in elections, and made claims about DMK’s election spending and its stance on delimitation.
