Congress veteran Sonia Gandhi, known for keeping her personal life largely private despite years in public life, has written her autobiography. The 79-year-old’s book is scheduled for release on November 10.

The memoir, running to more than 500 pages, will be published by a well-known American publishing house. Titled Blanking: A Journey of Love, it will also be available as an audiobook.

According to reports cited by senior Congress leaders, the book recounts key moments from her life, including meeting Rajiv Gandhi, their relationship, the assassination of Indira Gandhi, and Rajiv Gandhi’s killing in Sriperumbudur. It also touches on the political challenges she faced thereafter.

Party leaders say the memoir contains several references to Tamil Nadu, including details linked to the Sriperumbudur incident. They claim it will include what Congress leader Maragatham Chandrasekar, who was present at the scene, conveyed to Sonia Gandhi over the phone.

Congress leaders also expect strong overseas sales and say Sonia Gandhi has indicated the proceeds should go to Priyanka. Within the party, some leaders believe the book could influence public sentiment ahead of upcoming elections, including the 2027 Assembly polls in five states and the 2029 Lok Sabha election.
