A controversy has erupted in Thanjavur district after Thiruvaiyaru DMK MLA Chandrasekaran made remarks about Chief Minister Vijay and several ministers in an informal, singular form of address during a public speech.
The comments were made at a wedding function at the residence of a DMK functionary in Pattukkottai, where opposition leader and DMK Youth Wing secretary Udhayanidhi was present on stage. While congratulating the couple, the MLA referred to a recent protest in Thanjavur and spoke about a case that was filed in connection with a slogan raised in the crowd, and the subsequent questioning.
In the same speech, Chandrasekaran also spoke about events in the Assembly and made references to the Chief Minister and ministers, including a woman minister Keerthina, School Education Minister Rajamohan and Law Minister Nirmalkumar, using language that drew attention.
Following the event, his choice of words and the manner of addressing senior leaders have become the subject of criticism and debate within political circles, with the remarks now being widely discussed locally.
