Heavy rain continued to lash India’s capital on Monday, disrupting air operations in Delhi. The downpour also affected nearby areas including Noida, Ghaziabad and Gurugram, with waterlogging on roads impacting daily life.
Airport operations were hit as 15 flights were unable to land and were diverted. Of these, 12 were rerouted to Jaipur in Rajasthan, while two were sent to Chandigarh and one to Lucknow.
In addition, around 400 flights were delayed and 26 services were cancelled, according to the report. More than 50 international arrivals were also running late as weather conditions affected flight schedules.
Airlines said they were closely monitoring the situation and warned that further disruptions were possible. Passengers were advised to verify their flight timings before heading to the airport.
