New Delhi: Union Home Minister Amit Shah has praised Indian agencies after three absconding criminals were arrested in Malaysia and deported to India.
The men—Jaspreet Singh, Ajay Singh and Pavandeep Singh—were wanted in multiple cases, including kidnapping for ransom, cross-border arms smuggling, drug trafficking, and an alleged grenade attack in Ludhiana, Punjab.
Officials had been pursuing their deportation for some time. The trio was traced and detained while in hiding in Malaysia, and was subsequently sent back to India.
In a statement, Shah said the three were linked to the Bambiha gang and have now been brought to India and placed in police custody. He added that, in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “Safe India” policy, 51 accused have been deported to India so far in 2026.
