India posted a commanding first-innings total of 503 for 9 and declared in the second and final Test against Sri Lanka at Colombo. Dhruv Jurel anchored the innings with an unbeaten 115, bringing up a well-earned century.
After winning the toss, India chose to bat first. KL Rahul fell for 18 and Yashasvi Jaiswal made 45, while another batter reached a half-century with 50 before getting out. Padikkal batted patiently and went on to score a century, making 117.
At the end of Day 1, India were 300 for 5. On Day 2, debutant Saranash Jain was dismissed for 6, and Jurel added stability alongside Rishabh Pant.
Both Jurel and Pant crossed fifty, but Pant was out for 63. Manav Sudar followed for 18, before Jurel completed his hundred and stayed unbeaten on 115. With the score at 503/9, India declared their innings.
