Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal is set to depart for Japan today on a four-day visit, accompanied by a large Indian business delegation of more than 200 industry representatives.
The visit is aimed at strengthening India–Japan trade and investment engagement. The delegation is expected to hold discussions with key Japanese ministers, corporate leaders and investors on expanding bilateral economic cooperation.
In Tokyo, Goyal will hold bilateral talks with Japan’s Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, Akazawa Ryosei. He is also scheduled to meet senior executives from leading Japanese companies.
As part of the programme, the minister will participate in a roundtable with representatives of Keidanren, a major Japanese business federation representing over 1,500 companies. He will also attend an event hosted by a chamber of commerce in Nagoya.
The visit will conclude in Osaka, where Goyal will take part in a business roadshow for investors and companies, and meet industry stakeholders from the electronics, industrial and consumer goods sectors.
