DMK president M.K. Stalin has criticised the TVK government after Chief Minister Vijay announced that the Parandur airport project—originally announced during the DMK regime—would be abandoned.

In a statement, Stalin said dropping the airport plan would push Tamil Nadu’s development “into a deep pit,” arguing that the project was important for the state’s growth.

He alleged that the decision was being taken for “petty politics” and said the state’s welfare should not be compromised.

The remarks come amid political sparring over major infrastructure plans and their impact on Tamil Nadu’s future development trajectory.
