Anbumani Ramadoss has responded to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s statement that his dream is to build a drug-free India, saying the goal can be achieved only if enforcement agencies act with integrity and accuracy.
He said central and state intelligence wings, along with police departments, must function “honestly” and with “high precision” to curb the drug menace effectively.
Anbumani also stressed the need to keep students actively engaged, suggesting greater participation in sports competitions and physical exercise. He added that organising quiz contests and cultural programmes would further help.
In his remarks, he also pointed to changing social conditions, including rising population and the growth of apartment living, and noted that family structure changes and limited parental time for guidance can contribute to the problem.
He further made political observations, saying those supporting the Vijay-led government and those maintaining friendly ties tend to prioritise the Congress, and that Vijay should take note of this for his party’s survival.
