An IndiGo flight bound for Delhi made an emergency return to Goa on Tuesday after reporting a technical issue in one of its engines soon after takeoff.
The aircraft departed Goa at 9:16 am with 229 passengers on board. While in the air, the crew noticed a sudden technical snag in the engine and the pilot alerted air traffic control.
Following the alert, arrangements were made for an immediate landing at Goa airport. The flight was turned back and landed safely around 9:50 am, with all passengers and crew reported to be unharmed.
IndiGo said it provided alternate arrangements for passengers, including accommodation at the airport. The aircraft has been grounded for maintenance, the airline added.
Passengers reportedly experienced anxiety after the mid-air issue, though the landing was completed without incident.
