BJP Tamil Nadu president Nainar Nagendran on Sunday launched a sharp attack on the TVK government, saying he would give it a “minus 80” score for its first 100 days in office. Speaking to reporters in Tirunelveli, he alleged the administration had failed on multiple fronts.

Nagendran claimed TVK supporters were circulating “fake reels” on social media and said such content could harm the future of the younger generation. He also made remarks about the Congress party’s reliability and its political choices, referring to its alliance history and leadership prospects.

He criticised the tone of proceedings in the Tamil Nadu Assembly, saying constructive debates had taken place in earlier years but that the current atmosphere was being affected by ministers using inappropriate language. He further alleged that the Speaker should remain neutral and said projecting religious or caste identities inside the House undermines the dignity of the legislature.

Nagendran also raised questions over the reported Rs 5.40 crore spent on modifying the Chief Minister’s room at the Secretariat, alleging that no tender was called and describing it as “collective corruption.” He objected to remarks made in the Assembly about Jallikattu, calling it an important part of Tamil culture, and questioned the need to discuss incidents such as the 2002 Godhra episode in the House.

He added that any proposal to rename “separate constituencies” as “special constituencies” should be handled in a way that does not hurt anyone’s sentiments.
