Isha Foundation founder Sadhguru has called for the immediate formation of an organisation that includes all countries across which the Himalayan range stretches, to address recurring disasters in the region.

He made the appeal at a programme titled “Let’s Stand With Nepal” held in Kathmandu, Nepal. The event began with tributes to those who died in recent flooding, and actor Manisha Koirala was among those present.

Sadhguru said the Himalayas should be viewed as a shared responsibility to be protected for future generations, regardless of political boundaries. He argued that treating such crises as the problem of one nation alone—such as Nepal—would prevent any lasting solution, and urged countries to act collectively at least through consultation.

He also cautioned against attributing the tragedy to “divine reasons” or portraying it as an “unbelievable mystical power,” saying philosophical or spiritual explanations should not trivialise human suffering.

Announcing support measures, he said Isha Foundation would contribute Rs 1 crore to the Nepal Prime Minister’s disaster relief fund. He also said a “Kala Bhairava Karma” would be performed at the Isha Yoga Center in Coimbatore in memory of those who died in the Nepal floods.
