Retired Indian Air Force Air Marshal Jeetendra Mishra has been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Ayodhya Ram Temple.
The appointment comes in the wake of complaints alleging irregularities in handling devotees’ donations. A three-member special investigation team conducted a probe and found that temporary staff at the donation-counting centre were involved in malpractice, following which eight people were arrested.
To prevent such incidents in the future, the temple administration decided to bring in a new CEO and initiated a selection process. Around 5,300 applications were received, from which 18 candidates were shortlisted.
The shortlisted candidates were interviewed by a panel comprising former judge Pramod Kohli, retired Lieutenant General Vishnukant Chaturvedi, and former Shirdi Sai Baba trust chairman and scientist Suresh Haware. Mishra was selected through this process.
According to the report, Mishra has 39 years of experience in the Air Force and has flown fighter aircraft. He assumed charge as head of the Western Air Command in January 2025 and led the ‘Operation Sindoor’ action against Pakistan.
