New Delhi: The Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) has reported that 70,584 corruption and bribery-related complaints were received against departments and bodies under the Central government during 2025.
According to the annual report on complaints, 64,905 cases were disposed of, while 5,679 remained pending. Of the pending complaints, 2,002 had been awaiting action for more than three months.
Banks accounted for the highest number of complaints at 9,933. Of these, 9,520 were disposed of, and 413 were pending, including 52 pending for over three months.
The railways ranked second with 9,381 complaints, of which 8,754 were acted upon. Among the 627 pending cases, 10 were pending beyond three months. The report also noted that action is generally taken within three months and steps are being taken to clear the backlog.
