Prime Minister Narendra Modi said India’s growth trajectory is emerging as a platform that can create new opportunities for the world, noting that the country recorded a 7.8% growth rate in the last quarter.
He made the remarks in New Delhi after meeting Belgian Prime Minister Bart De Wever, who is on an official visit to India. The two leaders discussed ways to further strengthen bilateral ties.
Modi said India and Belgium are deepening their relationship more than ever before. He also described the signing of an India–European Union free trade agreement as a significant milestone, and noted that India and Belgium are working together in the semiconductor sector.
On global conflicts, Modi said India supports all efforts aimed at bringing the Ukraine war and the West Asia conflict to a swift conclusion.
De Wever said Belgium wants to take ties with India to the next level across economic and political areas. He noted that while trade links between the two countries are centuries old, the relationship goes beyond commerce and is rooted in shared history.
