India is prepared to support efforts to bring the Russia-Ukraine conflict to an end, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar said in Kyiv on Tuesday.
The war between Russia and Ukraine has continued for years, and India has repeatedly stressed that the dispute should be resolved through negotiations. Despite attempts by the United States, the conflict has not ended.
Jaishankar is currently on a tour of Ukraine and Poland. In Kyiv, he met Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha and held discussions on key concerns linked to the ongoing hostilities.
Speaking to reporters, Jaishankar said India would be willing to help “in any way” if it could contribute to ending the conflict. He also said he discussed attacks on commercial ships in the Black Sea region.
The Black Sea issue has been a matter of concern for India, with Indian seafarers reported killed in the region amid the conflict.
