A video of a Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) driver paying an emotional farewell to his bus has gone viral on social media.
The driver, Paul Kurian from Kattappana in Idukki district, retired from service on September 2. On his final day, he stepped down from the bus he had driven for 18 years and walked around it.
In the footage, he is seen touching and bowing to the tyres on all four sides. He then leans against the front of the bus for a few seconds before kissing it, marking the end of his long stint.
People present at the spot were moved by the gesture, which reflected his respect for his work and for the vehicle that supported his livelihood for years. The clip has since been widely shared online.
