A violent clash broke out between youths from Periya Kollakuppam and Subbarayan Koil areas near Vaniyambadi in Tirupathur district.
According to the report, more than 10 youths from the Subbarayan Koil side allegedly went to Kollakuppam carrying knives and iron rods and attacked youths there.
Seven people were injured in the incident and were admitted to hospital for treatment.
Police have launched a search for the suspects who escaped from the spot after the assault. Further action is expected based on the investigation.
