Heavy rainfall over the past few days has led to flooding in Bihar, with the Ganga river reported to be in spate.
The surge has inundated homes in several areas, affecting an estimated 1 million people, according to the report.
Along with the Ganga, other major rivers including the Gandak, Kosi, Digha and Hathida are also flowing above normal levels, worsening the flood situation.
Authorities are monitoring the rising waters as the rains continue, while residents in low-lying areas face ongoing disruption.
