A building collapse was reported in Delhi on Sunday, with witnesses claiming that around 50 students may be trapped under the debris.

The incident occurred around 1.30 pm in Satya Niketan, in southwest Delhi. The locality is known for having several educational institutions.

According to information shared by a witness, the building had been operating as a monthly-rent hostel for students. As it was a Sunday holiday, many students were believed to be inside at the time of the collapse.

Rescue operations are underway, with firefighters arriving in 12 fire tenders and working to locate and pull out those trapped in the rubble.
