A six-storey paying guest (PG) hostel for students collapsed on Sunday afternoon in Satya Niketan, southwest Delhi, triggering a major rescue operation.
Authorities fear that up to 50 students may have been trapped in the debris. As of the latest update, six people have died and five injured persons are undergoing treatment in hospital.
BJP MLA Anil said some people were still stuck under the rubble and that a few had managed to call out for help.
Amid the chaos, Aditya, a first-year B.Com student at ARSD College from Bihar, recorded and sent an 11-second video from inside the debris, with blood on his face and concrete slabs pinning him down. Student groups shared the clip online and urged immediate action.
Rescue teams continued operations and Aditya was pulled out alive. He has been admitted to hospital for treatment, officials said.
