A youth was killed in a road accident in Chennai after a car owned by Social Welfare Minister Jagadishwari allegedly hit a motorcycle near Kattankulathur.
According to reports, Jagadishwari, the MLA from Rajapalayam in Virudhunagar district, had travelled to Chennai to attend the ongoing Assembly session. While she came in a government vehicle, her family members were travelling separately in her private car.
The private car, registered in the minister’s name and said to have been following the government vehicle, collided with a bike near Kattankulathur. The rider, identified as Iraiyanbu, was killed in the crash.
Police have registered a case, seized the minister’s car and are continuing the investigation into the circumstances of the accident.
