Prime Minister Narendra Modi will chair a high-level review meeting in Delhi on Sunday to assess social justice measures and the performance of major Central government welfare programmes.
According to reports, ministers and ministers of state from the concerned departments have been invited. The review is expected to go beyond routine sector-wise assessment and also examine ministerial performance.
The meeting is likely to cover ministries including Education, Social Justice and Empowerment, Health, Urban Development and Agriculture. The focus will be on implementation, ground-level status, targets achieved and gaps that need correction.
Officials are expected to present updates on flagship schemes such as universal bank accounts, free LPG connections, permanent housing, health insurance, financial assistance for farmers, drinking water for all and the Swachh Bharat programme.
The review underscores the government’s emphasis on ensuring welfare delivery reaches the last mile, aligning with its broader approach of inclusive development and continuous measurement of outcomes and impact.
