Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday said it is essential for India’s youth to become experts in artificial intelligence (AI), stressing that the demand for AI skills is rising rapidly.
Addressing a programme in Vadodara, Gujarat, the Prime Minister laid foundation stones and inaugurated development projects worth about Rs 35,000 crore. He said India is shaping a new future in manufacturing, “from chips to ships”.
Modi also highlighted railway expansion and infrastructure works, including freight corridors and road projects, arguing that faster execution will support jobs and economic activity. He contrasted the pace of work after 2014 with what he described as delays under earlier coalition governments.
On education support, he said students would be provided free online coaching to reduce the financial burden of preparing for competitive examinations. He added that misinformation may be used to distract people, but youth would stand with the truth.
Explaining the wider impact of AI, Modi said the technology is not limited to the IT sector and can help develop solutions for agriculture, improve healthcare technologies and raise productivity in manufacturing. He described dedicated freight corridors as a lifeline for a fast-growing India and said modern freight infrastructure is accelerating the country’s transformation.
