An Indian resident in Japan, Om, has sparked an online discussion after posting an Instagram video contrasting Tokyo’s clear blue skies with Delhi’s visibly hazy skyline.
In the clip, he questions why Delhi cannot have similarly clear air, noting that common explanations such as population pressure do not fully convince him. He points out that Tokyo’s population is higher than Delhi’s, yet the sky appears far clearer.
Om argues that keeping the national capital cleaner would directly improve residents’ day-to-day quality of life. He also says better civic upkeep would strengthen how India is perceived abroad.
The video has drawn attention on social media as a broader conversation continues around urban cleanliness and living conditions in major cities.
