New Delhi: The Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADA) has released its report on electric vehicle (EV) sales for August.

According to the report, EV sales in August remained strong, rising 52.85% compared with the same month last year. While 1.95 lakh EVs were sold in August last year, sales climbed to 2.98 lakh units this August.

FADA president Sai Giridhar said EVs expanded their share in total vehicle sales, moving up from 9.5% to 12.3% during the month.

He added that EVs also improved their share in total commercial vehicle sales to 5.18%. Giridhar attributed the momentum to expanding charging infrastructure, lower electricity costs compared to fuel prices, and supportive measures such as the PM e-Drive scheme and state government policies.
