BJP leader Nitin Nabin on Tuesday announced a month-long public service campaign to mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi completing 25 years in public life.
Speaking to reporters at the BJP national headquarters in New Delhi, Nabin said the milestone will be reached on October 7, recalling that Modi took charge as Gujarat Chief Minister on October 7, 2001, and later rose to become the Prime Minister.
Nabin said that before Modi became Prime Minister, the country’s economy and policy framework were weak, and claimed that India has since emerged as a fast-growing economy. He also said India’s standing and goodwill in the global arena have improved under Modi’s leadership.
As part of the celebrations, the ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ will be held from September 17, Modi’s birthday, to October 17. The programme will include blood donation camps, cleanliness activities on October 2, and lighting lamps at the homes of beneficiaries of central government schemes under an initiative called ‘Aashirwad Ka Diya’.
