Sri Lankan President Anura Kumara Dissanayake has assured India that Sri Lankan territory will not be allowed to be used for any activities directed against India.
The assurance was given during a meeting in Colombo with India’s Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, who is on a three-day official visit to Sri Lanka.
During the talks, the two sides signed three agreements aimed at strengthening defence cooperation between the countries.
In a post on X, Rajnath Singh said the meeting on September 9 was constructive and that he conveyed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s greetings to the Sri Lankan President.
He added that he congratulated Dissanayake and his government, and said both nations were committed to working together for the welfare of their people.
