Chief Minister Vijay on Tuesday chaired the second consultation meeting of the ThaVeKa alliance parties in Chennai.

The ThaVeKa-led cabinet includes the Congress, Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK) and the Indian Union Muslim League (IUML). The Communist Party of India (CPI) and the CPI(M) are extending support to the government from outside, while the MDMK is also part of the alliance.

Leaders who attended the meeting included VCK president Thol. Thirumavalavan, Tamil Nadu Congress Committee chief Manickam Tagore and Tharakai Kathbat. IUML representatives Kader Moideen, Minister Shajakan and Syed Farooq Basha were also present.

According to the report, the discussions are aimed at shaping a new alliance under ThaVeKa leadership ahead of the by-election, including deliberations on what the new front should be called.
